Where to Book Your Next European City Break

We love staying in apartments when we travel. Not only are they more private and spacious than a hotel room, they also provide precious amenities like kitchens and washing machines. Sometimes, however, it can be a hassle to organize an apartment rental. Finding the right place can be difficult and then we have to negotiate the timing, deposit and price with a person we don’t know and hope for the best, sometimes with a language barrier on top of all this.

We slept soundly in our Budapest bedroom with its soft, comfortable linens.

So we were thrilled to learn about the short-stay apartments offered by EuropeNetHotels.com in 14 countries. While we were in Budapest we enjoyed the comforts of our flat at the Town Hall Apartments for one week and felt like locals. Our Senior Apartment was modern, clean, furnished and fully-equipped, with a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a huge balcony. The apartment had wireless internet (with a strong signal), a safe, towels, a hair dryer, washing machine and ironing board. The location was perfect, right in the centre of the city and only steps from the Andrássy út shopping street and a 24-hour grocery store. We were within easy walking distance to most of the major sights and the Deák tér metro stop with access to all three train lines.

It’s handy to have a kitchen when travelling – this one is fully equipped with everything we needed for a week in Budapest.

A giant balcony is a great place to relax after exploring the city all day.

Something else we don’t usually get with a private apartment hire is the luxury of a reception desk in case you need assistance. The Town Hall Apartments office is open until midnight and the staff were incredibly helpful during our stay. Not only could we have a delicious breakfast delivered to our room, they also offer free book, DVD and bike rentals and can organize tickets to concerts and attractions, tours and airport transfers.

If you get tired, as we do, of small, expensive hotel rooms, we highly recommend booking an apartment with EuropeNetHotels.com for your next European holiday. You’ll pay about 40 per cent less than you would for a standard hotel room and can stay for as little as one night or as much as several months with no booking hassles, fees or deposits. We were so happy with our experience we’re planning our stays with EuropeNetHotels.com in three more cities this year.
