Austin Snapshots: Around Town 1

The quirky little capital of Texas kept us busy for a couple of days this month. This very walkable city boasts world-class dining, culture and nightlife with plenty of shopping too.

I’ve hear Austin is a fun – and music-loving – city. And I’m glad to hear it’s possible to walk around; that’s not something I associate with Texan cities… but then I haven’t been in 20 years or so, and only in Dallas. 🙂

Oh yeah, you’re right on that one. Nowhere to walk in Houston or Dallas. Austin was quite compact and very walkable, though I’m sure there are lots of places we missed that could require a car to get out to. We left ours in the hotel garage all weekend.

I love that cowboy boot store!!! Would be great to get a pair and then go line dancing with the locals!;-)

You’ll find a lot of stores with a great selection in Texas – for example, Texas Junk in Houston.

BEAUTIFUL! I love all of the street art – OBEY is the greatest. (I especially like the last paste-up!)
