When people told us that Austin has a lot of food trucks, we expected to see a few. But they are literally everywhere - there are over 2,000 licensed eateries on wheels across the city (approximately one for every 500 residents according to the Austin Insider). While some don't open until the evening, others are serving up tasty, interesting fare all day long.

Wow! So many food trucks….so little time. Thanks for sharing photos of these wonderful, inventive restaurants on wheels. I was delighted to find so many food truck ‘parks’ on a recent trip to Ausitn. It’s so lovely to sit under a shady tree and nosh on a variety of delicious dishes with your friends.

I used to watch a series on Nat Geo about these trucks and I love the fact that they all have really different food. Some of it is really to a gourmet standard actually. Would love to check Austin out one day.
