Celebrating Our 300th Post With A New Look (and an Update)

I can hardly believe we’ve reached 300 posts since starting this website. It has evolved from a blog that was set up to document our 2011 around the world trip to an ongoing chronicle of our adventures as travellers and expats. We now have a number of contributors from all over the world and are sure that the best is yet to come for this website.

To celebrate this milestone we decided to finally proceed with a redesign for Inspiring Travellers, which we are thrilled to launch today. Tremendous thanks to Jason from Designpx for creating this new website for us – I think he’s done an amazing job and we are so excited to see the new look online today. Of course, this meant the sunset of our old design, which I actually created back in 2010 to get us started. I know from our reader survey earlier this year that quite a few of our readers weren’t crash hot about the dominance of orange in the colour scheme, so hopefully this new look will be easier on your eyes. What won’t be changing, however, is our content; you can be assured we’ll still be bringing you in-depth articles on destinations, expat life, food and beer from around the world and plenty of photos each week to go along with that.

Farewell to our old look…

It’s been awhile since we’ve done a personal update so I thought this might be a good time to share with you a little about what’s been going on in our lives. As you may know, we moved to Norway earlier this year. It’s been interesting. This year has pretty much been a wild roller coaster year for us. Let’s call it a transformational year, which some sources say 2012 was always meant to be. I know that I, for one, have had some really important breakthroughs in my life over the last 12 months. When so many things happen over the course of the year to really alter the way you think about things and your perspective on your life and the people in it, I don’t think you can ever go back to how things were before.

So on that note, I want to go ahead and put it out there that 2013 is going to bring some changes for us. We will most definitely still be travelling, I expect much more than this year. And we will likely also be making a change to our home base, though I can’t give you any more information about that at the moment because we have no concrete plans. Terribly cryptic, I know, and so not my style, but there are some things in the works. It’s been symptomatic of the year John and I have had that just when we think something is going to happen, it falls through and something new (and often even better) pops in to fill the hole. Repeat that a couple dozen times and you would understand why I’m hesitant to say anything definite right now in this post.

In the meantime, we would love to hear what you would like to see more (or less) of from us in 2013! And thank you, as always, for your interest and support of this website.
